I realized today that I really enjoy helping people to improve their lives. What type of career would enable me to do that consistently? (and would still allow me to make ends-meat with daily living)

Counseling, teaching, mentoring/coaching?

Nothing much to write about lately.. although there's been ALOT on my mind.

I think I'm getting carpal tunnel.. combination of work on laptop, 2-card poker playing/chip moving & a little bit of xbox?  Hmm.. I should probably make more of an effort to get away from tertiary/arm activities during my downtime.. hence, I'm writing on my xanga blog. Haha

How's is everybody doing this fine, fine evening?

So, after 4 mos. of being on clients in the Southbay, sometimes staying @cousin Ron's house during the week, I'm OFF to clients in Marin County and Fairfield for 7 MONTHS. yikes. Last year, the driving and the project combined was QUITE draining. I guess I could've requested to not be on these, but something inside me said I should just suck it up and do it.. Maybe it's all those years my mom told me to stick things out.. I learned that the "hard" way is not always a bad thing.. Maybe I'll learn alot. Maybe I'll put alot of mileage on my car and therefore be able to bill alot of those miles against some client chargecode somewhere.. hmm.. maybe i'll get really disconnected from my community and find peace in other things. Maybe I'll spend more time w/ God in the car. Alot of maybe's and possibilities. 1 positive thing that is in the back of my  mind--I get to be home every night and sleep in my own bed.. I get to cook, and enjoy some time at home.. that'll be a nice change. My plan is to do that for 7 mos. then move offices to the Southbay afterwards, AND find a place to buy/live in the Southbay. Maybe I can somehow find a way to keep dubs and play landlord.. Mr. Roper from 3's company comes to mind. I dunno if I can afford that or if it's even a good idea at all.. I tend to play the conservative when it comes to investments, although.. I am a risk-taker.

The result of my recent s2000 craze went like this.. I drove to Sacramento 1 Sat. morning and test drove the car. I had the guy save the car for me for 1 week.. the day before I was going to purchase the new wheels, I backed out.. I guess I just can't justify getting another car AND the cost of $752 additional for insurance each year. Total waste for some fun thing I'll only drive once a week..  but it would be pretty neat...   hmmmm.... maybe later.

Anyhow, my right wrist hurts. Hope all's well on your end.

ciao,

bjf

Anybody heard of Gaylord Perry? He's a Hall of Famer. Add him to the list of peeps I got to meet. He told us a bunch of stories and gave us some pitching instructions today.. He's like the nicest guy.. Prolly around 65-70 years old..  I found out he completed 303 games (e.g. all 9 innings) and played until he was 45 years old.  He told us about how he used to "put stuff" on the ball too, to make it "move" more. Haha. Got pitching instructions from Rollie Fingers as well.  Did alot of batting practice at the A's stadium.  Sadly, we lost game 1, but it was utterly amazing to be on the field and to look up at all the stands and to see the field as a major leaguer would see it.  Amazing. I hit a shot in my first at-bat and it was caught unfortunately.  In my 2nd at-bat, I went against a side-arm dood that threw alot of junk, and it def. curved alot. With the bases loaded, the count went to 3-2 and I decided to take the next pitch.. unfortunately, it was a strike.  Oh well.  Tomorrow, I'm gonna swing away.  Wednesday, I hope to pitch at AT&T park.. we'll see.. I've never pitched in a real game before and some of these guys can throw heat.  I guess if I make a fool out of myself, it's the once-in-a-lifetime-experience that matters. =)  I heard MLB is making plaques and baseball cards for us.  They're treating us like kings.
